1924

NASA-funded Wisconsin Center for Space Automation and Robotics (WCSAR) begins solving for problem of built-up ethylene gas around plants grown in the closed environment of spacecraft, which caused premature plant decay and spoilage. PCO technology is discovered.

1990s

WCSAR team created a device that was successfully flown and operated on Space Shuttle Columbia

1995

Electrolux USA is purchased by a group led by Joe Urso

1998

Electrolux USA is re-branded as Aerus, a healthy living company

2000

Aerus introduces air purification products

2001

Aerus invests in early generation of ActivePure®, a NASA Space Foundation Certified Space Technology

2009

Aerus greatly advances efficacy of ActivePure® and is awarded US and global patent protections

2016

Aerus' ActivePure® Technology is inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame, one of 75 technologies to receive such an honor in 30 years

The Aerus Medical Guardian with ActivePure® Technology received Class II Medical Device U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance
